This natural landmark, the "Meteor Crater", is promoted with the
same enthusiastic zeal as some of its Route 66 neighbors.
Here's a view of the impact crater from the top rim. Without
any familiar point of reference, it seems a lot smaller than it actually is...
It takes a little effort to find many Route 66 memories east
of Flagstaff, Arizona ... but some icons still exist.
One of the finest surviving attractions in Winslow, Arizona,
is an original Harvey House establishment called "La Posada Hotel" -and one of
the best too!
The "La Posada" is currently going through some new
landscaping ... but the interior is pristine...
The signpost indicates one of Route 66's most famous
attractions...

pretty stiff competition up the road a piece...

day on 66 ?!! -The Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, Arizona (not Halbrook as mentioned in

A visitor to the Wigwam never goes wanting for old and rusty
cars!
